2.1 Motioned by Carolyn and seconded by Hicham that the agenda
be approved. Carried
3.0Approval of January 3rd, 2007 RPCRA Board Minutes
3.1Motioned by Amanda and seconded by Howard that the minutes
be approved as written with the addition of the councilor’s
report and topics once forwarded and the correction of Barb’s
family name to SQUIRE. Carried.
4.0 Mail
4.1 Received check from the City of Ottawa for the remainder
of rink operations grant

5.0 Treasurer’s Report
5.1 Just received check for $5800.00 from City of Ottawa, grant
for rink operations. Total received for the rinks is $8825.00.
5.2 There are 2 checks to be signed for rink staff
5.3 Balance in bank account is $20230.64. The GIC was re-deposited
instead of rolled over. There was $51.78 in interest.
5.4 Carolyn submitted bills totaling $47.88 for Winter Fun Day
supplies and $72.92 for name tags. Checks to be written to reimburse
Carolyn.
6.0 School Closures
6.1 Carolyn prepared another letter from the RPCRA to the OCDSB
showing continued support for option #3.
6.2 Bill and Carolyn to attend the OCDSB meeting on Thursday
February 8th, 2007when a decision is expected to be made on which
school will close.
7.0 Communication/Website
7.1 Winter Fun Day Information is posted on Website
7.2 Ottawa Lions Track and Field Club list of summer track meets
at Terry Fox Athletic Facility is posted.
7.3 Maintenance fee of $72.08 for 3 months was paid.
8.0 Festivals
8.1 Winter Fun Day
8.1.1 Councillor Maria McRae’s Office to donate $200.00
and draw prizes.
8.1.2 Scotia Bank at the Ridgewood Mall has donated $200.00.
This money is being used to pay for part of the horse drawn wagon.
They would like us to display their banner. Amanda to pick up
the banner at the bank, Thursday or Friday.
8.1.3 Mooney’s Bay Bistro supplied 4 gift certificates
for $15.00 each for draw prizes. Don from the Bistro will try
to attend the draw.
8.1.4 Roger’s Community cruiser is confirmed
8.1.5 Memberships cards will be used to take names for the prize
draw, therefore enabling the RPCRA to start a mailing list using
these names.
8.1.6 Carolyn has prepared signs, posters and the jelly bean
jar for the contest.
8.1.7 Hicham will help Carolyn get the table to the park.
8.1.8 There was a message from Doug, he will drop off the large
banner.
8.1.9 Matt will take care of donation money as Howard will be
away. Confirmed use of cash as tip for horse drivers ($40.00
assuming service is good).
8.1.10 Bill Lister has key to huts for Winter Fun Day
8.2 Dragon Boat Festival
8.2.1 Megan Mack attended the meeting requesting a Letter of
Non-Objection from the RPCRA. She confirmed that the date for
the Dragon Boat Festival is set for June 23rd and 24th 2007.
They now have 3 staff members. The process for permits, bookings
and supplies has started. The format and set-up will be basically
the same as last year. There will be extra security as the
festival is growing and expanding every year. Bill reminded
Megan about the flood area (land around the Sue Holloway Fitness
Area)
8.2.2 Howard motioned that the Letter of Non-objection be granted,
seconded by Carolyn. Carried. A hard copy of the Letter of Non-objection
was given to Megan, Bill to forward electronic copy to Pat.
8.2.3 RPCRA will request one parking pass for the Dragon Boat
Festival
9. Rinks
9.1. Doug had a skating party with 200 people in attendance at
Bayview Rink on Friday, Feb 2nd, 2007. Reports that Pauline Vanier
rink is well used.
9.2 Carolyn to contact Rachel regarding extending power for rinks
if weather permits considering how late the season started.
10. Councilor’s Report – See attached
10.1 – Councillor Marie McRae presented her Councillor’s
Report’s addressing the following city and community topics:

10.2 Councilor McRae brought the certificates for the Christmas
Light Contest. Amanda handed out the letters of congratulations
and now the judges can present the awards to the winners.
10.3 Howard inquired about the traffic enforcement signs that
were up on Heron Rd. near Riverside Dr. and on Walkley Rd. Action:
Pat to bring statistics for recent traffic enforcement.
10.4 Carolyn asked about the Mooney’s Bay Environmental
Study. It is still underway
10.5 Carolyn mentioned that the parking sign on the west side
of the emergency vehicle access route at 770 Brookfield is still
posted. Carolyn to send a letter; under Councillor McRae’s
direction, with a due date for removal. If it is not removed
by the due date Marie will take further action.
11. New Business
11.1 Bill brought forward Barb Squire’s nomination to become
a member of the board of directors of the RPCRA. Carolyn motioned
to accept Barb Squire as a new board director. This was seconded
by Howard. Carried
