Association Information

The Riverside Park Community and Recreation Association (RPCRA) is an organization composed of residents of the Riverside Park area who volunteer their time to represent the interests of their community. The association is dedicated to:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the quality of life, the environment and the community spirit of Riverside Park
  • Promoting the interests of the residents of Riverside Park
  • Issuing the letters of non-objections for events and festivals
  • Representing the concerns of the residents of Riverside Park to local, municipal and provincial governments

Our goals are to maintain and enhance the character and quality of life within our community; to maintain a liaison and coordination with other community associations and groups; and to create awareness within the community of issues affecting it and the City as a whole.

Membership

Membership in the Association is open to residents and businesses within the RPCRA neighbourhood.

Membership Priviledges

  • Vote for the RPCRA Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Vote on any motion at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Attend any meeting of the Board of Directors or its Committees
  • Address the Board at any scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors
  • Have access to all Association meeting minutes, correspondence, and other official documents upon giving reasonable notice

Membership Fees

Annual membership fees are $10.00 for an individual or $20.00 for a household or business.

Association Meetings

General meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 19:00 at the Riverside Churches, 3191 Riverside Dr (near Walkley Rd) - all welcome

 

Committees

The RPCRA has committees where members work together on various projects concerning the Riverside Park community. New committees can be created to address specific issues.

Individual committee pages may contain more information on projects and activities.

We are looking for volunteers to participate on various committees and on the Board of Directors.

Board Administration and City Liaison Committee
To manage and distribute meeting notices, agendas, and minutes; to manage Association governance; to liaise with the Councillor's office.

Communications Committee
To keep the Residents informed on issues relating to their neighbourhood (includes managing the membership list).

Environment Committee
To keep a watchful eye on the quality of natural spaces in our community.

Finance Committee
To manage the Association financial records.

Land Use and Development Committee
To monitor any proposals for change in allowed land use or site plan proposals that might affect the well-being of Riverside Park residents.

Neighbourhood Safety and Police Liaison Committee
To liase with the Ottawa Police Service

Rink Committee
To ensure proper management of neighbourhood rinks.

Special Events Committee
To administer consistent requirements and guidelines for letters of non-objection.

Transportation Committee
To monitor traffic problems / solutions brought to our attention by concerned residents and businesses.
